Another great project for our friends at Nando’s. This restaurant concept was born out of the location and inspired by South Australia’s rural and agricultural heritage. The volume of the space allowed the formation of a feature barn-like structure with exposed trusses, rustic details, eclectic reclaimed objects and found machinery relics.

The concept for this 135sqm restaurant was inspired by the history of Portuguese sailors exploring the world, which led to a very solid and raw design with nautical influences. The finishes include tone-on-tone decorative floor and wall tiles, white washed brick, white ceiling with raw timber joinery, steel pins and copper details, which create natural aged and raw look.

Ernest Hemingway famously scrawled ‘My mojito in La Bodeguita’ on the walls of the famous bar and restaurant in the 1950s in Havana Cuba. Almost 60 years later, Design Clarity helped sculpture a piece of the magic in a double-story heritage site on York Street, Sydney. Interpreted for a modern city, this site retains the old-world charm and promise of a great time.
