The outdoor precinct integrates retail store boundaries into a central pedestrian plaza. An expansive, multi-tiered timber canopy offers acoustic and thermal shading for the external dining spots, ensuring a seamless, comfortable transition from the fully enclosed mall zones into a natural, sunlit environment.
The plaza architecture uses horizontal, open-slat timber facades to create a textured boundary layer above the street-level shopfronts. This screens system breaks up the harsh afternoon sunlight, casting linear shadows across the light-grey concrete pathways and reducing the heat load on the glazed building entries below. Black steel balustrades border the upper maintenance walkways, maintaining an industrial edge that ties into the broader centre infrastructure.
At ground level, the floor transitions to light-toned stone paving, organized to define casual al fresco dining zones from main thoroughfares. Freestanding timber benches and custom concrete planters house native trees, adding a soft botanical layer that creates natural buffer zones between separate outdoor restaurant seating areas. Large branding umbrellas and clear directional signage poles are distributed logically across the square, forming an accessible, community-focused hub.
