This high-level design feature softens the expansive vertical scale of the food court, working alongside natural timber soffits to diffuse daylight from central skylights while establishing a distinct identity for the precinct.
The ceiling treatment combines polished timber slatted panels with long translucent skylight bands to distribute even, natural illumination across the space. Suspended beneath this matrix, large-scale, dish-shaped metallic canopies act as both sculptural art pieces and light diffusers. These metallic structures reflect changing daylight throughout the afternoon, creating a dynamic visual canopy for the diners below.
At floor level, the retail design management framework organizes distinct seating configurations. High-top communal tables finished with dark slate tops run parallel to long timber refectory tables, offering options for both quick individual stops and group dining. In the foreground, a heavy counter clad in deeply figured burr-wood veneer serves as a structural barrier that breaks up the main pedestrian circulation lanes. In the background, individual tenant facades are seamlessly integrated under a continuous, neutral bulkhead line to maintain structural consistency.
