The chill of the London winter is now truly upon us, the Christmas lights are on, and the festive season has begun!
To get into the spirit of things, Design Clarity London hosted a winter wine and cheese evening for clients, consultants and friends of Design Clarity. Loaded with our newly found knowledge from the cheesemongers and sommeliers of Borough Market, the studio was converted into a festive feast.
We began with a French Sauvignon Blanc, the Abbesse de Loire which perfectly accompanied the Ragstone, a goats cheese from Neal’s Yard. The Brie de Meaux, from North East France was matched with a Litho Riesling (a nod to our Australian studio), a fruity style to compliment the creaminess of the brie. To follow the Pico de Anet (Spanish Tempranillo), a full-bodied rich red with the structure to stand next to the Montgomery Cheddar.
To finish, a fortified wine, (just to keep us going), La Font del Bosc with the hugely popular Stichelton (Neal’s Yards ode to a Stilton). We had many people eager to head out and buy more of this one for their Christmas celebrations, unfortunately for them, we managed to purchase the last four bottles, more barrels being bottled in the new year according to our source at Laithwaites.
All served with an array of market accompaniments, figs, grapes, apples and pears, market baked bread and of course our favourite oatcakes.
A successful soiree, good cheese, good wine, and good company. We would like to thank everyone for joining us, we hope it was a suitably gentle start to the festive season – although, only 4 bottles of wine left might suggest otherwise!
