This concept draws upon the many facets of Melbourne’s dynamic lifestyle, architecture & culture. The design highlights the city’s open, positive and forward-thinking attitude and embraces individuality.
Melbourne is characterised by a local pop-up phenomenon and distinctly bold, visionary architecture alongside elegant green spaces and a deep respect for the city’s historical roots. This essence of Melbourne is reflected through the unexpected juxtaposing of design elements, ever-evolving/changing spaces and referencing the distinct harmony between traditional and modern, natural and man-made.
For Westpac we are creating a vibrant, welcoming environment for the individuals of Melbourne, offering positive, forward-thinking attitudes and personalised service. The design concept encourages individuality and discovery. It embraces conversation and interaction within the community through thought-provoking experiences.
The activation of the 24/7 lobby space is the core of the branch identity and sees a switch of service roles where staff are more supportive and customers more interactive. There’s a ‘discovery zone’ under a sculptural oversized landmark pendant signposting this as a destination point for browsing with free use of tablets, wifi, magazines and coffee. The media or ‘future wall’ offers a retail merchandising platform as well as a telling the story of the bank’s community ventures, located by ‘the Heart’ customer lounge area.
The new BankNow layout relies on individual expression, creativity and the receptive, experimental nature of Melbourne people. This design for Westpac in Melbourne’s city centre encourages the best personal banking UX & caters for all needs by providing diverse areas for better customer engagement.
