Schematic mall upgrade design direction
Design Clarity worked with the Mirvac team on high level schematic ideas for renovating this Darling Harbour institution.
The concept vision considered the harbour location, the limitations of existing design elements and introduced a subtle maritime influence with nautical references. The project scope was a broad brush concept exploration to consider ways to reinvigorate an ageing asset.
Early schematics covered a new outdoor dining precinct, reformatted indoor F&B precinct allowing for additional tenancies and extended licensed seating areas, entry statements at maritime museum and convention centre arrival, ambient mall upgrades to all levels with new ceilings, lighting, floor treatments and pause points.
Options for a rooftop bar and even an open air cinema under the glass vaulted arch were put forward as discussion items.
