This intimate snapshot highlights the crafted elegance behind the Kingston bar. Softly lit arches, textured tiles and warm timber tones showcase the project’s design language—contemporary, character-rich and centred on creating a welcoming, elevated pub experience.

This close-up view draws attention to the bar’s most distinctive architectural gesture: the illuminated arched shelving. A signature element carried through the design development phase, the arches soften the traditionally linear geometry of a pub bar, offering a refined focal point that blends nostalgia with modern hospitality design.

The background is clad in elongated, vertically-laid glazed tiles—specified in muted sage tones within the finishes schedule—to introduce a subtle texture and a gentle shimmer under warm LED lighting. Their handcrafted, slightly irregular surface catches the light beautifully, adding depth without overwhelming the space. The tiles also reinforce the concept’s emphasis on tactility and approachable sophistication.

Integrated LED strips trace the outline of each arch, creating a halo effect that frames the bottles like curated objects. This soft, indirect lighting replaces the harsh glare typically found in traditional bars, allowing the space to feel more considered and intimate.

Below, the bar front features ribbed timber panelling, selected for its warmth and rhythm. The vertical fluting adds a sense of craftsmanship that pairs seamlessly with the tile texture behind the counter. It’s punctuated by a slim stone-look benchtop from the project’s material palette—durable, elegant and timeless.

The pendant lights above the counter introduce a sculptural note, echoing the curved language of the arches. Their matte white finish keeps the composition calm and cohesive.

This image captures the Kingston bar not as a utilitarian service point, but as a carefully orchestrated design moment—one that elevates the everyday hospitality experience through thoughtful layering, refined materials and warm, atmospheric lighting.
