Bank of Heritage Isle

How to make a pilot branch stand out from the crowd

A testing ground for a flagship physical pilot branch on the corner of Hobart’s main pedestrian shopping precinct. Bank of Heritage Isle was set up for agility – able to transform from daytime banking to community seminar space to night-time event space, offering a venue where local businesses share stories, gather insights and connect with their customers.

The branch model was explored as a collaboration between Bank of Heritage Isle, Border Bank and Police Bank. Opening up the conversation and awareness to everyday members in the local community.

Operating over two levels, a staff lunch area and back office offered a view of the bank floor. The front of house area was planned for adapting to various functions, with a large pivoting presentation wall, dedicated kids zone and various stand-up open and semi-private conversation points for customer interactions.
