Margot Osteria’s refreshed identity brings layered warmth and relaxed sophistication to a prime corner of Sydney’s CBD. Reimagined as a modern take on the traditional Italian osteria, the space now offers a richer, more inviting journey—from the moment guests glimpse the softly lit interiors through expansive street-facing windows, to the final sip of wine under dappled outdoor light.

Design Clarity, in collaboration with Swerve Design, refreshed the 10 Barrack Street venue with some key operational design improvements and a new finishes colourway to align with the new Margot brand and food offer. A warm, earthy terracotta-based palette, olive banquettes, and tan leather-upholstered chairs offer tactile comfort, while classic osteria-style stone tabletops and the building’s raw structure create a striking visual contrast. Guests can enter off the building foyer space into a fast casual, quick service café-bar catering to the morning office work crowd, with all-day dining available from the chefs island, central dining space, and separate banquette alcove ideal for groups and event bookings.

As diners settle in, subtle cues—the curated artwork, a bold feature painting, and refined textures, Portofino stripes, a vintage branded bicycle – enhance the ambient personality, encouraging conversation. The alfresco terrace, nestled within Sydney’s bustling streetscape, invites spontaneous visits and relaxed gatherings. Seasonal rotating artwork, sourced by the client, adds a dynamic layer to returning patrons’ journeys, ensuring each visit feels fresh.

Brand elements by Matilda Wilson Creative weave personality throughout, culminating in a space that’s not only functional but also soulful.
